But it's not always easy to manage your time, is it?
Do you sit down to work on a specific project and then end up on Facebook for an hour...maybe longer?
Have you ever searched Pinterest for just one quick thing and then realized you've got two dozen new pins but you've forgotten what you were originally looking for?
I'm guilty. I'm as guilty as a teenager with a pile of homework surfing the web and texting at midnight.
So, here's what I did...
I put myself in Time Out. That's right. I'm on restriction from Facebook when there's work to be done. I think I have no willpower but that little note has worked somehow. I've managed to get some big tasks finished...an outline for a new presentation, workshop handouts, plans for a fall unit, and more. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you're in Time Out!
How do you manage your time?
Do you have a secret for avoiding the traps of social media?
I do NOT have a secret for staying off of Pinterest. Pinterest tends to suck me in. I don't have a problem with Facebook, because I refuse to even open a Facebook account. I know it would be a time-drainer for me. I like your 'time out" idea! That could be helpful.

I wish! Having it all on my phone makes it so hard to not get trapped! I do have daily to-do lists though and those keep me moving throughout the day.

Sounds like timeout is a great thing in this case! I think I could use some timeout sometimes too.

A Very Curious Class
Ah. You make me chuckle. My trap is Pinterest. I rationalize that in many ways it helps me be a better teacher because I find so many great ideas to try... of course, if you have so many pins you never get to see them again, it's not so good :P First things first is such a hard goal! See you around. Kathleen Kidpeople Classroom
