All summer-long I've had a really hard time remembering what day it is...
It only makes sense I'm linking to Doodlebugs Five for Friday on Saturday afternoon!
First of all, I blogged a recap of the I Teach K conference here.
What a wonderful week and I'm happy to share my experiences with you.
I still need to finish my post about the Tues/Wed/Thur sessions.
Please, stay tuned. As they say in Vegas...The best is yet to come!
I bought this old Frank Schaffer poster for a quarter at a yard sale before I went to the conference.
The copyright says 1989...the first year I taught was fall of '89!
The only way I could see utilizing this poster was to cut each section apart
and then use it for direction icons. I love these big, bold graphics!
I really miss those simple Frank Schaffer teacher products.
I worked a little in my yard this week...pulling weeds, trimming bushes, deadheading roses.
For some reason, I didn't wear my gardening gloves and now I have a nice blister on my thumb.
It just happens to interfere when I'm holding my scissors so I
guess that huge pile of laminating will have to wait another day or two.
At least the garden produced this for the kitchen counter...
and a few peppers for salsa!
I shared my Thrifty Spool & Spell over at
Smedley's Kindergarten Smorgasboard for Thrifty Thursday.
Many of the fine motor preschool activities you find at Goodwill & yard sales
can be taken to another level of learning. Just takes a little effort.
Easily done with some Avery labels or sticker letters and a dab or two of Modge Podge!
I have a box full of things like those lacing spools I want to modify
in order to teach a different skill that what it was originally intended for.
Maybe I can get a few done this weekend!
Thanks for visiting with me!
